Challenge & concept

Recycling becomes an opening experience

A new brand needs a reason for people to enter, participate and remember. OHHA approaches activation as an experience journey, from initial attention to meaningful activity, bringing the brand story into everyday life.

Merry Plaza integrated environmental themes into the event itself. Used materials became creative resources, while activities such as collecting materials and making flowers created accessible interactions between the shopping centre and residents.

From concept to the event

OHHA worked across four stages

01 / CONSULTING

Define the brand experience

Develop an opening activation concept connecting the brand's goals with the community's environmental interests.

02 / DESIGN

Turn the concept into touchpoints

Develop designs and messaging for the event space so visitors can recognise the experience, approach it easily and want to participate.

03 / ORGANISATION

Connect the activities

Deliver the activation programme, coordinating experiences and partners to create a coherent event journey.

04 / OPERATIONS

Care for the real experience

Coordinate activities on site, support participants and work with partners throughout the opening programme.

An open space for an active community

Merry Plaza Richmond City opened over four days, 20–23 December 2025. Experiences, performances and photo spots created a setting where residents, families and visitors could meet the brand.

Green living activation

A recycled flower. A shared contribution.

Visitors could contribute materials at the collection station, create items in workshops and join games using recycled materials. Limloop supported the collection station and guided participants.

At the flower-making workshop, deaf artisans helped children make their own creations. The flowers were added to a shared flower wall, a visual feature shaped by community participation.

Designing experiences with environmental awareness

Collect materials for a chance to be recycled

Including collection in a well-attended event makes sorting and contributing materials accessible as part of the on-site experience.

Extend useful life through creativity

The workshop offered a new use for old materials. Participants experienced the value of recycling directly through making.

Gifts to keep using

Limloop bags and cup carriers made from recycled materials carry the green living idea beyond the event and encourage repeated use.

An approach to reducing environmental impact

Collecting, recycling and extending material life aim to reduce waste and the demand for new materials. This is the environmental direction of the activation concept.

Moments of participation

The value of activation lies in connection: making, learning and contributing together. Merry Plaza becomes a meeting point where the brand story connects with positive experiences in residents' lives.
